The Wake County Register of Deeds Office will be closed for relocation on August 11th and August 12th, 2008.

The Wake County Register of Deeds Office will relocate from the Garland Jones Building, 300 S. Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh to the Bank of America Building, 421 Fayetteville Street on Monday, August 11th. The building is located diagonally to the left of the new Raleigh Convention Center and they will occupy the third floor.

In order to facilitate this major move, the Office will be closed on Monday, August 11th and Tuesday August 12th. This will affect the recording of real estate records, obtaining a marriage, birth or death certificates and administering notary oaths. They will reopen on Wednesday, August 13th at 8:30 a.m.

This relocation is necessary because the Garland Jones Building will be replaced with the new Wake County Justice Center which is scheduled to start construction in early 2009. The Register of Deeds will move into the new Justice Center upon completion, which is projected to be in the spring of 2013.
